Building Bridges of Communication to Bring Catholic Communities Together

About Patti Gutiérrez, Owner of Catholic Spanish Translations

Inspired by a lifelong passion for languages, cultures, and ministry, Patti Gutiérrez founded Catholic Spanish Translations to help Catholic organizations communicate clearly, pastorally, and culturally across English and Spanish. With roots in Maine and Kentucky and formative experiences on missionary trips to Latin America and living in Ecuador, Patti brings both academic preparation and hands-on ministry to her work.

From 2003-2018, Patti dedicated herself to supporting the Diocese of Owensboro in serving Hispanic/Latino communities through leading the Diocesan Hispanic Ministry Office and serving as Pastoral Associate and Parish Life Coordinator of a rural, multicultural parish. Since 2018, she has served countless Catholic ministries through translation and consulting through Catholic Spanish Translations. Her bilingual expertise, combined with pastoral sensitivity and theological grounding, ensures that every project fosters trust, clarity, and cultural resonance.

Alongside Patti is her husband, Deacon Chris Gutiérrez, whose ongoing leadership in Hispanic/Latino Ministry enriches their shared commitment to intercultural service and formation.

Patti’s professional experience includes collaborative projects with Catholic dioceses, publishers, and national ministries; content management for USCCB initiatives; and teaching intercultural competencies to ministry professionals. She is also pursuing a Master’s in Pastoral Theology to deepen her understanding and service.

Catholic Spanish Translations is more than a translation service — it is a trusted ministry partner dedicated to helping you engage Hispanic Catholic communities with faithfulness, clarity, and pastoral care.

Our Patron Saint

The woman in the Catholic Spanish Translations logo is St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, the patron saint of immigrants. She is a fitting patron for this work because she came to the United States to serve immigrant communities, founding schools, hospitals, and other ministries that helped newcomers preserve their dignity, faith, and hope. Her witness reflects the heart of Catholic Spanish Translations: helping Catholic organizations communicate clearly, pastorally, and faithfully with Hispanic/Latino communities and the ministries that serve them.

Workshops, Retreats & Formation

Deacon Chris & Patti Gutiérrez

As a team, Patti and her husband Deacon Chris Gutiérrez offer virtual or in-person workshops, retreats, and formation programs in English and Spanish for Catholic couples & families on a variety of topics. They also provide formation for ministry leaders on intercultural competencies, ecclesial integration, and pastoral skills necessary for effective outreach to Hispanic Catholic communities.

In addition, Dcn. Chris is available to preach in English and Spanish. He has served as Diocesan Director of Hispanic Ministry for the Diocese of Owensboro since 2014 after leading Hispanic Ministry in a local parish for 7 years before that.

We would be happy to share about what we have offered for parishes, dioceses, universities, and other Catholic organizations to explore how we might serve your ministry.
